Why Attend?

Grow your understanding of how good pasture and supplement use increase profitability and build efficiency into your farm system.

Join us on farm with Oxford farmers Lance and Wendy Main who, with their son Jesse and his partner Yoselin, will discuss how they are increasing profit through optimising pasture and supplement use, and their decisions to incorporate herd homes into the farm system.

DairyNZ scientists Roshean Woods and Lydia Farell will discuss how the host farmers are using supplements, benchmarking against data for the Canterbury region and how to use the feed checker tool to optimise feed allocation throughout the year.

Decision makers on farm and rural professionals wanting to understand how to use pasture and supplements more effectively are encouraged to attend this event.

Find out more about:

  • The use of supplements and the role they play in pasture-based systems
  • How supplements can impact reproductive performance and the effect on a future fit farm system
  • How DairyNZ’s Pasture Potential tool can help you better understand the relationship between pasture eaten and profit, and identify gaps for improvement
