Heather Donaldson
Area Manager - Mid-Canterbury
Area Manager
Heather sees the DairyNZ regional teams as providing an ‘extra crew’ working with and for farmers, sharing in their satisfaction as they achieve their goals.
“My role is connecting farmers with our information, tools and resources and with others in the sector, so farmers can improve their systems and overall business. Sharing what we’re doing means that we’re all working off the same page. That helps us to focus on the right areas, and it means we’re all better together.”
Heather and her husband have been dairy farming for some time now, and she says she’s motivated by their personal experiences, as well as having a fascination with all things dairy-related”.
“I fell into dairy farming by accident, I love learning and I’m currently taking some business classes at the University of Canterbury too.”
“The farmers that I work with are smart, savvy, hardworking and genuine good people, often working in tough situations.
“Being able to support them and increase both business and personal resilience is good for everyone. Our team loves to help, so just reach out to us and it’ll make our day.”
